Escaped From Tarkov Handbook - Chapter 3 - MiyukiEverlight (2024)

Chapter Text

Injectors
xTG-12 antidote injector : Removes most of the known poisons and toxins used in the combat industry. Can be used to relieve the effects of natural poisons. Gives immunity to poisoning while the components are in the blood system. Can reduce health status. So basically what it says on the tin, helps with poison and toxin removal but leaves you feeling a little weak afterwards.

Tablets & Oral Meds (In game)
Analgin Painmillers (AKA Metamizole) : Game Description 'The cheapest and most widely available Metamizole painkillers. ' it is a painkiller, spasm reliever, and fever reliever drug used for acute severe pain after injuries or surgeries, tumor pain, and acute or severe pain symptoms unrelated to surgery or injury, whether it is prescription medicine or over the counter varies by country. It is however banned in some countries due to adverse effects (Mostly Western Ones for a lack of better description. i.e US,UK,AU,CA etc.) They come in 10 tablet strips.

Augmentin antibiotic pills (AKA Amoxicillin and Clavulanate Tablets) : is prescription antibiotic used to treat many different infections caused by bacteria such as urinary tract infections, respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, sinus infections, tonsillitis, cat scratches, infections caused by the bacterial flora of the mouth, such as: dental infections, infected animal bites, infected human bites etc. Generally comes in a bottle or strips.

Ibuprofen Painkillers : These should be widely known enough that I don't need to explain much about them it's the most long lasting tablet taken painkiller in the game, so may have the story version a sort of super ibuprofen if I decide to include it at some point, might be a bit difficult though, comes in a bottle of 15 in the game, I guess I could use it as a stop gap for things that would be better done with morphine or not one-use morphine but has a bit more adverse side effects depending on the wound type it treats. I'll have to think about it.

Vaseline Balm : Okay so in Tarkov, I'm almost certain you pretty much just lick it, eat it or something rather than applying it to your lips lol but here's the irl usages - It's used help protect minor cuts, scrapes, burns, or eczema by assisting with skin water retention by acting as an occlusive agent that prevents evaporation of water from the stratum corneum (outermost skin layer) and seals out external water. Generally only used for shallow injuries and not deep ones due to risk of infection and such, but seeing as it is at the end of the day a game, I might make them a 1 use type balm that can be used for severe burns I think instead of the 6 uses you get for painkiller effect in the game.

Golden Star Balm (AKA Cao Sao Vang) is commonly used for Сolds, flu, runny nose and cough; Headaches, migraine, dizziness; Rheumatism, aching joints; Prevention of insect bites, itching and pain after a bite; Relief of symptoms during seasickness, motion sickness. Only for external use, similar with the vaseline/ibuprofen I think I'll make a 'super version' and have it as mostly like a post-recovery type of ointment rather than being used in the field, as quite a number of treatments or medications cause some of the above symptoms or similar symptoms.

-----------------------------------------
Field Surgery Kits

CMS Surgical Kit (AKA I don't know, it doesn't seem to really quite exist irl how the game one does where it just has like a staple gun, a hemostat or tweezers/forceps etc for a total of 3 tools.) So basically it restores 'blacked limbs' in the game which means they've lost all of their HP and can't be healed by the med-kits or injectors in game. So in the story I'll probably make it more of an actual surgery kit and have the tools for emergency surgery out in the field to summarize it will basically have hemostats, scalpels + handle, sutures, scissors, tweezers and forceps. Closure strips, antiseptic and alcohol prep wipes along with Skin-Tac Wipes which basically are like an extra adhesive to help things stick to the skin. (https://nitro-pak.com/tactical-surgical-and-suture-kit/ Link to the Kit I found that I'm pretty sure just uses the Tarkov kit look lol or maybe it came first idk anyway that's there for anyone interested.)

Surv12 field surgical kit (AKA same as above) So I think I'll basically just make this sort of more well-stocked version of the CMS with having more supplies and such as well as maybe a few more stop gap measures in it such as QuikClot, Chest Seals, CAT Tourniquet's, NAR Naso's, a Permanent Marker and Combat Casualty Cards. I'll likely have just the medics exclusively carry these usually in situations where they know they're likely to have significant amount of injured actors they need to treat and otherwise just have them take CMS kits into their usual operations.
