The player wore a black and red mask helped to hide his identity, and lifted the crowd to their feet after scoring a superb solo goal early on.

Appearing head and shoulders above those around him, he danced his way down the right flank before cutting inside and arrowing an effort into the bottom corner.

He notched his brace in the second half after once again gliding beyond several amateur defenders and coolly slotting home with his left foot.

Earlier in the game, he had also laid off to Eman for AMP's equaliser.

The player remained on the pitch but refused to remove his mask, raising questions over whether his vision had been affected when he scored an own goal.

With AMP trailing 4-2 shortly after half-time, the ball dropped awkwardly toward him at the far post. He was unable to move his leg and the deflection rolled into the net.

'Djed Spence not looking out of place in a YouTube charity football game doesn’t surprise me (it genuinely is Djed Spence he was a mystery player),' one fan posted on X, formerly Twitter.

'Djed Spence getting cooked in a charity match we ain’t seeing no money for him this summer ffs,' another added.

A third wrote: 'Djed Spence has locked down by Danny Aaron’s and we want him to ball under the European lights.'

Speculation was increased when Spence's sister,Karla-Simone Spence, shared a snap on Instagram during the game.

Spence, 23, is still contracted to Tottenham, but spent the second half of the 2023-24 season on loan with Genoa in Spain.

The stadium announcer had pleaded with the crowd to leave the field, denying the capacity audience the chance to watch a penalty shootout to decide the winner.
