Do you anxiously await Starbucks to release their holiday flavors each year? Get the recipe for this healthy gingerbread latte that can easily be made at home to avoid the coffee shop lines and excess calories!

I don’t know about you, but I’ve got a major case of the Christmas blues. You know, where your productivity level goes way down and all you want to do is snuggle up on the couch and watch Christmas movies with a steaming cup of hot cocoa or coffee?

This past weekend, I was running around doing last minute Christmas shopping and so of course, I had to take a pit stop at Starbucks midway through to fuel me to the end. But really, who am I kidding? It was just an excuse to pick up one of their signature holiday drinks that we have all come to know and love this time of year.

Nowadays, most of the flavored coffee shop drinks are too sweet for my liking since cutting sugar (for the most part) out of my diet. So this time around, I went with the Spice Blend Flat White because I knew it would be lower in calories and sugar than the one I was really eyeing – the gingerbread latte!

Homemade Gingerbread Latte Recipe | FitLiving Eats by Carly Paige (2)

Instead of reaching for my beloved gingerbread latte at Starbucks, I decided I would try to recreate my favorite holiday flavor at home so that I can control the sweetness level and ingredients.

You guys, I nailed it. I might even go as far to say that my homemade gingerbread latte is better than the coffee shop version… just sayin’. Plus, it’s made with real ingredients, homemade almond milk (you could also use store-bought), and naturally sweetened with maple syrup!

The sweetnessfrom the molasses and the spiciness from the cinnamon, cloves and ginger are the perfect compliment to each other. Put them in a homemade latte and you will be sipping on this delicious drink all winter long.

This recipe is made with my homemade almond milk (get the recipe here) for an even creamier and decadent milk froth, but you could use any milk of your choice.

Now, who’s ready to curl up and watch the latest Hallmark Christmas movie with me?

Enjoy the recipe for a homemade gingerbread latte for two below!

  23. Hi Carly , lovely & delicious drink but I have a question for you. How can I convert this into an iced latte? Could I and how do you suggest if possible?

    Reply

    1. Hi Peter! You could use cold brew coffee instead of the hot coffee (or just chill it in the fridge) and whisk the ingredients together. You could also skip the frothing/heating step for the flavored milk and just combine everything in a mason jar cold and shake until well combined and frothy! Hope this helps!

  26. This is an excellent solution for those who need to follow a diet. I made this drink for my pregnant wife while we were watching the Champions League final. She loves football just like me)) But with the birth of the child, we switched to an interactive format – https://1xbet.com/en/ I began to make my predictions for the season more often and even won. But we will not take a baby to the stadium until he is three years old.
